We tasted wine with our parents

MADERA -- Both our parents were in town for Thanksgiving, and we were looking for things to do with them.

So we got drunk.

Yeah, we did.

This was our wine expert.

Look at the old people go.

We attended my work holiday party

And for some reason, I had this look on my face all night.

Drank *some* wine.

And then brought in the reinforcements.

We broke down ... and cried

LOS BANOS, Calif. -- About an hour out of Fresno, on our way to the San Francisco airport to pick up the in-laws, who had to rent a car for their Thanksgiving trip to see us.

(UPDATE: Turns out we need a new starter and battery.)

We went to see the Dixie Chicks

Carrie, Kim and me had a great time. Don (who's taking the picture) not so much.

Saturday, November 11, 2006

We ate, drank and danced with the Mayhew bros

That's me with Don and Kim ...

and Tracy and John.

Carrie rubs the Buddha at the gay club. (God, I really can't dance.)

If Tracy ever comes back to town, I'm gonna pull on something of his.

We were part of a flash mob

Get it? A group of flashers. (Nobody ever gets my concept costumes.)

I went to the fair

Bryan got a bigger corn dog. (Compensating much?)

I said goodbye to a Kreamer

Matt may be going to Seattle ...

but Amanda's still here ... for now.

We celebrated a month of marriage

With four-year-old mead! That tasted like shit! But at least there was a lot of it!

We attended a wedding

NAPLES, Fla. -- Two weeks after our own.

It was a beach wedding.

We got married

Friday, June 30, 2006

I went out for a night of drinks and bowling (again)

SAME PLACE AS BEFORE -- We invited out all the out-of-town guests and friends who would be attending the wedding the next day for a fun evening of, well, drinks and bowling. This is me and my dad.

MORE SCENES FROM BOWLING NIGHT PART 2:

I threw away my stinky sandals in the mall

Bought myself a new pair of Clark's. Love those puppies.

I knew when to fold 'em

BACK AT MIKE'S PLACE -- After the wonderful yet short-lived bachelor party, the boys headed back to Mike's to play some poker. Here's me admitting that my hand wasn't a winner.

MORE SCENES FROM POKER:

I picked up my brother at the airport

TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT -- My own brother, Mike, actually flew back into town ... just to attend my wedding. Or maybe it was for the bachelor party. Perhaps it was just to make sure I didn't wreck his house (my new home away from Fresno). Either way, it was great to see him.

I met with the cake maker

TAMPA -- We loved Chef Michael so much on our April trip to Tampa (I had met him originally when I came down in December) that it was a no-brainer that we'd go with him. The cake ended up being the most beautiful thing ever (God, it tasted sooo freaking good, too). I can't wait to go back to collect on our one-year anniversary cake.

I hung out with my friend Olga

And just like last year, I got a birthday kiss. Yeah, baby.

I imitated a piece of art

DOWNTOWN TAMPA -- After applying for my marriage license, I was inspired to tell the world that I love my future wife thiiiiiiiiiis muuuuuuuuuuuch.

I applied for my marriage license

DOWNTOWN TAMPA -- For the record, it costs $93 to get married in the state of Florida. And it costs $1.50 to park for an hour. So, I guess that makes $94.50.

That's us with the woman who basically made our six-year relationship legitimate. It wasn't as glamorous as I thought it would be.

That's me, signing my life away.

"Yes, I swear I'm a legal resident, and I'm not just marrying her for her money. Sure thing. Whatever you say, lady."

I had dinner with my folks and future mom-in-law

Carrie's mom, Nell (on the right), hung out with us for the week before the wedding. Here's us having dinner at Alexander's.
